The Akai S3000i is a sampler made in Japan in 1993 (prices at the time of its release: $ 4,000. what represent 6600 $ now in 2016 ). It is a 16-bit sampler 44.1Hz (the resolution of a Compact Disc). You can sample many minutes (varies according to the installed RAM).
But, in our opinion, recording length is not important, because long minutes of recording are possible with a simple computer. What is interesting about the Akai sampler S3000i, it is the treatment available, much like on a synthesizer (filters, LFOs, envelopes ...), this is MUCH more inspiring than a computer. The Akai S3000i can be used as a synthesizer. Another interesting good point of the Akai S3000i is the good sound dynamic, with "punchy" attacks.
In the S3000 series of Akai samplers, the S3000i is the version that offers connection for an external SCSI hard drive.
