The Kurzweill 1000 HX is a digital expander made in the USA in 1988. It is an expandeur from the Kurzweil K1000 synthesizer.
The 1000 HX is specialized in wind instruments. The 1000 HX contains 100 presets, including some sounds from the Kurzweil K1000 and the famous Kurzweil K250, as well as synth waveforms, then a multitude of wind instruments sounds (Tuba, Trumpets, Trombone, Horn, Oboe, Flute, Saxophones .. .). The Kurzweill 1000 HX has a 20 voices of polyphony. Each sound is composed by 4 "Layers". Each Layer can have its own timbre as well as different effects related to this timbre. Each "Layer" can be edited (tunning, Pan, volume ...) as well as the related effects (Vibrato, Delay, Chorus, Phaser ...). You can save your own edited sounds composed of "layers" and effects.
